Spotify has a playlist for all emoji on your phone: Here's how it works

Spotify’s highlight is its playlists and the music streaming service has arrived with an interesting limited-time feature. Spotify has a playlist for pretty much every emoji you can find on your smartphone.

This campaign was started in celebration of World Music Day held on June 21, and Spotify has partnered with Twitter for the same. It’s a week-long campaign and excited users can get on Twitter to take part in this emoji-playlist campaign.

Every user has to do this tweet an emoji with the hashtag #PlayThis. You will get an automated response from Spotify along with the playlist that best represents the emoji you’ve chosen. For example, if you tweet with the sort of laughing emoji, Spotify suggests its “Just Smile” playlist. It has records like Bob Marley’s One Love, Morgan Heritage’s Sunday Morning and Angel’s Blessing

Spotify said it has integrated over 3,300 emojis on both Android and iOS with a curated playlist for each of them. So there’s an individual playlist for every single emoji.

Spotify said #PlayThis was trending on Twitter in 18 countries on World Music Day. It also bagged the 14th spot for the “Longest Trending Hashtag Worldwide” on Twitter. The hashtag garnered 243k mentions and conversations and a total engagement of39k within 24 hours.
