WhatsApp continues surprising us with its prompt updates and features. Sometimes you get a whole new separate feature and sometimes the chat company just tweak an existing feature to make it more user-friendly. Several chat apps are leading the messaging app business but WhatsApp enjoys one of the largest user base for its minimalistic design which is easy to understand, it keeps updating itself and of course the fact that it is free.
We already know that the Facebook-owned chat app has already brought Animated Stickers and QR codes on iOS, Dark mode for web and desktop, improved video calls, and disappearing status features for KaiOS users and now there are some more updates on its way to you. Note that some of these updates could be under beta testing while some of them may have reached your phone already. Take a look:
Advanced Search: Searching for any particular chat will become easier on WhatsApp now. The chat app earlier this month had released a beta trial of its advanced search functionality for iOS and now it is coming to more users. The feature is now coming to Android beta testers. The advanced search has been implemented in the global search option. It lets you search for a specific type of message like GIF, text, picture, documents, and audio. Once this feature rolls out globally, everyone will be able to search for any particular chat easily and faster.
Rooms: India Today Tech was the first to spot the Rooms integration on the WhatsApp app for iOS and now the feature has also been rolled out to Android beta users. The Messenger Rooms shortcut can be seen along with other shortcut icons in the app such as camera, document, gallery, audio, and location. Rooms are WhatsApp’s answers to video conferencing apps like Zoom and Google Meet. The feature lets you video call with friends on Facebook with up to 50 participants.
Animated Sticker for Android: WhatsApp has rolled out the animated sticker feature for its iOS users but it can be expected soon for Android users too. As the name suggests, these stickers are animated. This will make chatting more fun on WhatsApp.
QR Codes for Android: The QR code support has come for iOS users and it could be expected to come to Android soon. This feature will let you share your QR code instead of the phone numbers. You simply have to scan a QR code to add a new contact instead of going through the hassle of typing out the numbers.
